I invite you to consider a quilted work of art crafted on a commission basis. I make art quilts and mixed media creations of the highest quality and craftsmanship, specific to your unique space and story.

COMMISSIONED QUILT ART FOR YOUR WALLS

I create custom art quilts for homes and businesses that are designed as wall pieces.

  • Art quilts can be designed to hang directly on the wall or presented in a frame.

  • Dimensions range from 15 x 15 inches to 50 x 50 inches.

  • Larger installations can be created in series - diptychs, triptychs or any number your space requires.

QUILTED MEMORY JOURNALS & MEMORABILIA QUILTS

I also create custom quilted art books and wall pieces using clients' memorabilia (vintage clothing and fabrics, buttons, lace, beads, photo transfers) and emotionally significant fabric from their family or loved one, to celebrate important life passages.

  • Quilted memory journals are approximately 7 x 9 x 1.5 inches and have 8-14 pages.

  • Memorabilia Wall Quilts are crafted with a high regard and sensitivity to what is being memorialized and can be completed to any dimensions up to 50 x 50 inches.

COMMISSION PROCESS

Ordering a custom art quilt or quilted memory journal is an easy and rewarding process.

It begins with phone call or email where we discuss what story you want to tell and what images you want to use. We will also talk about fabric patterns, colors and textures, and how they will further inform your story.

After we have defined your story and established a basic design idea, we will consider the dimensions and presentation of your quilted art: framed vs. unframed.

If you are commissioning a quilted memory journal or memorabilia quilt, we will begin by talking about the memories or story you want to commemorate. You will send me your memorabilia, and we will refine your project design after I have received it (all photos are returned after they have been scanned).

*Past works will not be duplicated and only new creative projects will be considered.

COMMISSION PRICING

Once we have decided on the design of your quilted art, a price will be set. We will also set an expected delivery date and means of delivery.

Museum quality mounts are used for art quilt installation on a wall surface, and museum quality framing materials are used for art quilts mounted in float frames. If glass is used, it is reflection free museum glass.

Art Quilts and Memory Journals are priced via the dimensions and amount of detail work performed. Details include machine appliqué and machine embroidery, metallic threads, hand embroidery and custom bindings. Specialized embellishments such as beads, buttons and ribbons may also be used.

  • There is a $1,000 minimum price point for all commissions.

  • A 50% non-refundable down payment is due to the Artist after an estimate of the project commission is completed.

  • Please figure on 6-12 weeks for delivery depending on project size and complexity.
